Project 365. Day Two-Oh-Six: Good morning, Starshine...

I love getting mail. I especially love it when it comes in a shoebox w/ duct tape and is from a certain JBean.

I get excited when I check the mail and that key, which means there is something too large to fit in the cubby hole for regular mail, is waiting for me.

I knew instantly upon sight of the shoebox...with...duct tape...exactly who it was from. YES! If you ever want to get mail from someone, you want to get it from JBean.

So, here's the box-o-la...

And what I found when I finally fought through the d.tape...

What she had to say...

She got me this awesome wrap-around skirt from GAP! Wha,whaaat!...

This loving bear...

A green ribbon ? (Which must mean she thinks I 1) am green, pretty, and shiny 2) like ribbons in my hair. Who doesn't ? 3) based on our friendship, knows that a package isn't a good package w/o something even slightly random 4) she wanted to tease the cats--note: Paprika eyeing said ribbon. What is with that cat and stealing my mail ? Doesn't he know that is a federal offense??)...

She also got me this thoughtful notepad...

This. book. "Starshine" has historical significance to us. Which is only part as to why it is so awesome...

I thought she'd stolen the book from the library (rebelliously awesome), until I noticed the word "discarded" stamped on the page...

But then, I read the inside flap of the cover. JBean obviously picked this book out (mucho awesome)...

Go ahead, tell me I don't have the best friends, ever.

Today's Highlights:

1) The biggest highlight: knowing I made Jason smile today ! :) Nothing can be better...
2) Shoebox de ductape
3) It's my friday!
4) Imagining making this w/ da Hubs in our future (real) kitchen. What do you think Hubs?? Is it a date ?

Jas, doesn't this picture remind you of that picture of that tiger cub ? Remember (as I do that thing with my hand that I do when referring to this picture)?

We have some cute, and fluffy pets, we do!

Today's Highlights:

1) Double rainbow, one of which was super bright and almost totally complete!
2) No class Friday which means tomorrow IS my Friday !
3) Cupcakes (with Christmas sprinkles) that JBean, Em D, (Kiltie) and I made.
4) BEDDDDDDDDDDDDTIME!

Goodnight!

Project 365. Day Two-Oh-Four: Things that happened today/ Today's Highlights...

1) Went here for lunch (Auntie Karen, you'd be proud...Jason got tabuli (sp?), and enjoyed the flatbread and hummus. He was quoted as saying, "Here, eat this. It's just like we're at your Auntie Karen's in MN")...

2) Aren't these clouds COOL ????

3) I found this lady's lost dog and called her. Then, later in the afternoon, I found this thank-you note from her on our front door! Here's Paprika and his cute self admiring the bird on the card...

4) THEEEEN, best of ALL.... these two came all the way from Conneticut via roadtrip to have a slumber party tonight!!!! THEY ARE THE BEST!!!!!! ("No jalepenos???" "....she was POSSESSED!"). SO good to hug their faces!

Project 365. Day Two-Oh-Three: Ever want to just sit down and write about enviromental issues in Spanish ?...

Boy! I know I do !

...Not. Except that I am b/c I have to write 225-250 words about such from (apparently) the top of my head and not the top of my memory. I kind of managed this, write-in-spanish-as-if-I-actually-know-spanish on my last composition and I was kind of proud of myself. But, this time...

Anyways, the only relevance this picture has to today is that I'm wearing that shirt. Aren't those flowers pretty though? Jason got them for me for V-Day this year. !Me gusta flores muchas!

But, it's 11:29pm and I feel like no matter how much I look over my material for my compostion tomorrow, I'mma not going to stop thinking about it merely b/c I've plopped my stuffed brain onto my 4 bajillion pillows (I like a lot of pillows).

Hopefully, I did well on my 2nd Spanish examen too. Eeep. I sure felt like I studied for it hard, that's for sure.

!El tiempo para una luces!
("Time for the highlights!" Atleast, thats how I would say it...)

Today's Highlights:

1) Test 2 down and out.
2) I can see the livingroom floor (darn packing clutter). Thank-you Hubs!
3) JBean and Em D sleep over tomorrow night!
4) New mango flavored Burts fo mah lips. Smoochy smooch.

* I looked up how to say, "Time for the highlights" and whadya know? I was right! I should retire now...
** If you notice, I said, "I sure felt like I studied for it hard..." which is backwards...that's because I've been studying spanish for too long and everything is backwards in spanish. *sigh*

Project 365. Day Two-Oh-Two: Life is as full as the mustache you're wearing...

I guess you could say my Uncle has a pretty full life. Ohhhhhhhhhhh! :) I hope you enjoyed that, Auntie Karen. Love that Uncle John of mine :)

Anyways, I've been studying all day for a spanish test so, I thought you should enjoy one of my favorite pics from MN. A little stachey, stache.

Lately, my brain has felt like a dryer with a bunch of tennis balls in it. Today, it's more like a dryer with tennis balls and a sombrero in it. Ole! (Happy Ole to you Auntie Karen!)

Between the packing, meds, school, etc. Jason and I have been juggling what seems to be flamming batones. Whew.

Life--you are a speedy one!

I hope you're enjoying either the slowness or speediness of your life right now. Remember, try to always find a few highlights in your day, no matter what the conditions !

Today's Highlights:

1) Finding out that Rachel (JBean) and Em D. are driving through the area and will be coming for an evening visit on Tuesday! Yay!!!
2) Packing progress being made (THANK-YOU Jason! You've done a really good job! I really appreciate it!)
3) Even though I have a test tomorrow, and a composition Tuesday, I don't have class Friday. Short week !
4) I'm mere minutes away from sleepy time !

3) Afternoon movie w/ Jas
4) Dinner w/ the fam @ Fish Daddy's
5) Jason surprising me w/ some Combos

Project 365. Day TWO HUNDRED!!: A lame post for such a celebratory day...

...B/c I'm blogging from my phone b/c we are in line to see SALT.

Seems like the last 100 days have gone by slowly as I've looked forward to getting to day 200. Figured that if I could get to 200 days, I could get to 300, and then I could get to day 365.

Well, I'll bust out the confetti tomorrow... we have a date w/ Angelina Jolie.

Project 365. Day One-Ninety-Nine: Long week and some other things...

Baaaaaaaaah. Long, long week. Thankfully, tomorrow is Friday.

So, my old background has apparently bit the dust so, I was forced to choose a new background (thus, the blog is under a little remodeling right now...). I'm lucky for two reasons: 1) I happened to of been thinking of changing up the blog background anyways 2) I accidently changed it to this background earlier today when I was trying to preview it on the blog and I think I'm going to stick w/ it ...atleast for now.

Now, I have to get in the shower and then do my spanish homework and get to bed...

Today's Highlights:

1) Tomorrow is Friday.
2) Pizza Rolls, mac n' cheese, and sweet potato fries--the dinner of champions. Don't judge me.
3) Did I mention tomorrow is Friday ?
4) An Everybody Loves Raymond nap, two nights in a row.

Dear Husband, I've been a bad wife lately...missing out on writing you letters frequently it seems. I'm really sorry, it seems my head hasn't been screwed on straight lately. Thanks for keeping me in line though and helping me organize all my meds. You're a trooper, and I love you...a lott-o. I hope you have a great Friday and I can't wait to spend the weekend with you, no matter what it may bring (boxes and all). Thanks for being patient w/ me through all my ups and downs. I owe you one (or two, or three, or four...). Extra smooches are comin' your way ! ISDLY!
P.s. I hope you find your missing shirt soon. Sorry that the house ate it :(

Project 365. Day One-Ninety-Six: The fact is, we don't play dodgeball around here...

Today's Highlights:

1) Delicious homemade ribs/baked beans/mac n' cheese for dinner (Kiltie thought it looked pretty good herself).
2) It's almost bedtime.
3) Watching Operation Repo/All Worked Up w/ Jason (his favorite part of Monday nights). That Ron guy from All Worked Up has the best sayings, haha.

"That guy thought he'd come out here, take his shirt off and intimidate us like a fat kid at dodgeball. The fact is, we don't play dodgeball around here..." --Ron, All Worked Up

Project 365. Day One-Ninety-Five: Fam-Dam-ly...

Since I'm blogging from my parent's house, I thought I'd post one of my favorite pictures of them, which just so happens to be from the wedding.

Look at 'em ! So handsome and pretty! LOVE this picture !

Today's Highlights:

1) Dinner @ Mom/Dad's w/ the fam.--yummy pot roast and such. Mmmm!
2) Spending some time w/ Mom/Dad/David/Adam/Jason
3) Preparing a little somethin', somethin' for Grammy and for Auntie Karen (Nothin' much but, Mom is bringing them w/ her to Nederland so keep an eye out Auntie Karen!)
4) Preping el bistec deliciousa para la cena manana. Okay, well, technically... we prepared delicious ribs for dinner tomorrow...but I couldn't do the accent marks on here and I couldn't remember the word for "ribs". El oops-o.

Project 365. Day One-Ninety-Four: New Header Shake, Shake...

That's why i'm doin' a little dance. New header.

Like it? The picture is courtesy of mi hermano, Adam, cira.... 2003 ? 2004 ? And, it's of the greatest.dog.ever. And, by cira, of course I mean...circa...thank-you da Hubs, that isn't reading over my shoulder at this very moment, your abnormal skill at grammar and punctuation is one of the many reasons why I love you (the irony? he's the math guy and I'm the english person. And he hates writing papers. But, he's way better at proofing stuff than I am. Oh well. Ps. Enjoy all of my punctuation errors in that run-on sentence).

Anywhoot. I love that pictural of mah dawg. It's always been one of my favs. I like Kiltie's exspression--one eye, lazily wondering why her nap was interrupted-- and the fact that she's laying in one of her fav nap spots in our old house (the stairs...which is always fun when trying to leap over her to the next step, only to have her leap after you just as you're hanging over her head, suspended in air).

Good picture, that one by my brother.

And, the fact that it's so good and I'm so tired is the reason that it's my picture for today. Oh, and I haven't taken any pictures today b/c we've been busy packing (barf){Jason gets more points than me in the packing front, I must admit}.

Well, onto the highlights...

Today's Highlights:

1) That Kia--Hamster commercial...the one w/ the rapping hamsters....LOVE it. And, I've probably seen it 3 times in the last 2 hours and it's playing on repeat in my brain. Ah, I love me a good dancin' hamster.
2) "A short nap" that Jason let me take on our packing "break" that then turned into an alledged 3-hour nap. All the cats were holding me down, under the sheets, I was being held captive....
3) Getting some boxes packed (barf-- but it needs to get done).
4) That left-over peach cobb(ler) that I'm about to lay into...

Over and out.

Project 365. Day One-Ninety-Three: Box Tops...

Y 'know in elementary school when your class had to collect all those Box Tops (or soup labels) for something or another ? I was never good at that. And by never good, I mean, I may have brought in 3 Box Tops to school. Ever.

Well, now we have a different kind of box tops...

The packing has begun. Oye. Our days in the greater B/CS are number.

Today's Highlights:

1) da Ti Jins for lunch
2) Uh, no class. Win.
3) Hangin' out in Nav. w/ Adam. Then, Mom. Then, Mom, Dad, and Adam.
4) La Casita for dinner w/ Mom, Dad, Adam, and Jason.
5) Sharing fajitas w/ Mom.
6) Watchin' kitten shleepy nods.
7) Beginning the weekend w/ Jas. Mmmhm.

Project 365. Day One-Ninety-Two: This guy aims big...

Paprika's favorite naptime spot is a little big for his britches--Kiltie's dog bed. It's cute for a few reasons... Besides the obvious--he being so tiny, the dog bed being so...not...

I think he finds Kiltie comforting--which is also cute-- and seems to be common knowledge among all the residents. She's a popular canine, that Kiltie. The fact that Paprika spends his dream-time swollowed up by the over-sized, Border Collie haired pillow, however, is just a tangible confirmation of his affections towards the world's greatest dog ever.

So, there ya go, soak in the cuteness...

Today's Highlights:

1) Having one of the better nights sleep that I've had in awhile. Thank-you Ambien.
2) Catching Kiltie and Paprika sleeping butt-to-butt on the dog bed in the wee hours of the morning. Again I say, cute.
3) Knocking out mi examen de espanol, knowing that I did my best and I definitly worked hard on it.
4) Surprising myself with my spanish composition--I actually came up with plenty of stuff to write about and had more confidence that usual that atleast some of it made sense. El whoop-o.
5) Profesora not holding class tomorrow.. Ole!
6) One day closer to being healthier.
7) First sushi since getting sick. Mmmmm!
8) Looking forward to having a little extra time this weekend to read, for fun.
9) Having a supportive and awesome husband.

Project 365. Day One-Ninety-One: Did you know?...

"_____________ only counts in hand shoes and horse granades" ?

Dear Husband, all of todays highlights go to laughing with you at the above mentioned, rediculous comment that came out of my mouth. Thanks for laughing with me, and even sometimes at me (cira 2007 when I pounced you and and fell to the ground into a pile o' leaves only to be greeted by your laughter THEN a helpful hand up). Laughing with you is one of my favorite things EVER. Here's to many more years of me being the comic relief in our relationship, intentionally or not. You're the Wavy to my Lays. -- Wifey

Project 365. Day One-Eighty-Nine: Untitled...

Today's Highlights:

1) A couple bites of peach cobbler
2) First day back to school
3) Good fittin' jeans-- thank-you Jason and Sale rack @ American Eagle
4) Post-escuela nap
5) Jason sweetly waking me up from said nap (it's always the best way to wake up!) :)

Dear Husband, I owe you a letter or few. Sorry that I haven't been a good letter written wife lately--promise to do a better job now that I'm gettin' better. Your heroism constantly amazes me. Today, you drove me all the way home when you realized I wasn't feeling good and didn't have my medicine. Then, you used your whole lunch hour making sure I was okay instead of making sure you had a solid lunch. I'm so thankful for you and always so humbled by your ability to always put others before yourself. I hope I can grow up to be like you; I sure do love you!

Project 365. Day One-Eighty-Four --> One-Eighty-Eight: Why I haven't posted...

{Pictured: My brother, Adam, gave me the tiger (which I named Tulupio) when I was in the hospital for my Colectomy. Tulupio became very important to me over those 3 months and often became tied to my Morphin pump so that I wouldn't lose track of the Morphin button. Thus, Tulupio tends to go along with me on hospital trips. Jason gave me the giraffe (which I named Short Stack), on this hospital stay-- which again shows how thoughtful my husband is. I love giraffes and getting this little guy reminded me that everything would be okay, and made me smile like a little girl. :) Both Tulupio and Short Stack became a tangible comfort, and cozy reminder of how loved I am this week.}

So here's the deal:

If you remember, I had a Pouchoscopy last week. Immediately following the Pouchoscopy, is when my pain began.

I was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon due to "abdominal pain." Due to the fact that I have had a complete Colectomy, and have things like Fibromyalgia, and PCOS, they weren't sure where my pain was coming from.

They did a LOT of tests, and made me drink lots of stuff to make my insides glow. They eventually determined that I have a "fistula tract" attached to my Pouch (it's kind of like a weird fold/canal). Most likely, this tract is normally collapsed. However, when they did the Pouchoscomy, they probably poofed that track up with a little air, which really ticked it off.

Sooooooooooooo, they've given me a ton (I think 8 or more) prescriptions for pain, muscle relaxation, and anti-biotics. Did I mention those 8 plus scripts are on top of the 15 plus meds that I already take ? If you hear a strange rattling, it's just me walkin on by.

Through all this, da Hubs has been amazing. He took off work early on Wednesday so that he could take me to the hospital, and then, he never left my side....not once. He slept on a really uncomfortable cot, and wouldn't even eat in front of me since I couldn't eat. He wouldn't even go down to the cafeteria until I left the room for testing. He let me squeeze his hand any time I had pain, and he rubbed my back and told me I was doing a good job when I grimaced through a spike of pain. Everyday, he told me he was going to be strong for me so that I wouldn't have to be, and he encouraged me that no matter what the tests said, we'd get through this together. More and more everyday, he rises far beyond the typical role of a husband. He is so much more to me and I'm so very thankful for him. I just hope that I can somehow show him just how much I love and appreciate him. He's my hero!

Project 365. Day One-Eighty-Three: Some days, it's like we have a panther and a tiger wrestling in our living room...

Today's Highlights:

1) Having my Follow-Through done and over with. Now, we just have to hurry up and wait for the results.
2) Getting some extra, much needed rest.
3) My dear, sweet Hubs surprising me with Chicken n' Dumplings from Cracker Barrel b/c he knew I wasn't feeling well.
4) Hubs being so supportive and encouraging in times like these.
5) Thinking I may really enjoy spanish class this summer
6) Having what could be a really good teacher for said clase
7) Sitting next to another ASC-er in class.
8) Goodwill jeans that fit me oh so well. American Eagle, $13 dollar jeans, are you next?
9) Pandora radio.
10) Hearing stories of how loopy I got from my meds last night. Oye.

Project 365. Day One-Eighty-Two: So, if you were wondering...

...why I missed a post (allegedly), here's why:

In a nutshell, I had a Pouchoscopy done on Thursday which went well (no Pouchitis, yaaaay!). Following the procedure, I began having unusual pain (i.e. it's not the kind of pain you're likely to get after a Pouchoscopy). Originally, we thought it was a combo of gas (since they poof you up w/ so much air and/or my Fibromyalgia so, we weren't too worried about things for awhile. Long story short, the pain hasn't gone away (only flucuated) since Thursday. After speaking with my doctor, he highly encouraged me to go to the ER to get a cat scan just to rule out the possibility of any perforations (perforations = very bad). So, after about 5 hours and 3 doses of various pain killers, it was determined that I did not have any damage to my pouch (yaaaaaaaaaaaay!). The down side to all this is, I'm still having pain, and at this time, no one really knows why(boo). I was given a script for a couple pain killers/smooth muscle relaxant, and we made our dopped-up-on-pain-meds trip home around 3 am.

Being that my Dr. didn't find any problems w/ my Pouch, he has scheduled me to get a Small Bowel Follow-Through tomorrow morning to determine if I a) have Chrohn's Disease or b) have any other undiagnosed issues w/ my small intestines. Never dull right?

My Dr. had already planned to give me a Follow-Through once he saw that my Pouch was in good shape. However, now that I've had constant pain all week, he is even more adamant about me having the Follow-Through tomorrow.

So, in a nutshell, thats whats been going on.

Auntie Karen, I'm sorry I haven't returned your last email regarding my Pouch stuff...I haven't been on the computer or my email very much over the last two days. But, I'll fill you in more via email (thanks for thinking of me, I really appreciate it).

In other news, Paprika is officially Paprika thanks to his fancy new I.D. tag that we got him. Yay!

For now, I gotta get ready for bed...follow-though in the morning and first day of spanish class in the afternoon. Whew!

Project 365. Days One-Eighty and One-Eighty-One: Geez-a-loo...

This weekend has been very hectic. And yes, I have good reason as to why I didn't blog yesterday (shh! Don't tell). But, it's getting late and I don't feel great so...with your persmission, I'd rather update you on the weekend chaos tomorrow. K, thanks!

Dear Husband, Where do I begin ? I don't quite know how to thank-you for this weekend. You took a situation, which typically causes me great anxiety, and stood before it like my very own shield. Then, you assured me that no matter how things panned out, we'd get through it all together. You gave me the greatest sense of strength, and comfort. Yesterday, I felt like I was tumbling into a free fall yet, you never left my side; I never doubted that you'd catch me. You see, theres this thing that happens when you hold my hand--the whole world seems to fade away, taking every worry with it. You fight for me, and with me. And, I know you'll say, "well, that's my job, I'm your husband." But, it's so much more than a job to you. It's the chronic condition of love. Don't play it all down--you, my dearest sir--are so much more than an ordinary man, you're exceptional. I have never felt so secure in such an unsecure situation...until this weekend... and it's all b/c of you. I Sure Do Love You!

Project 365. Day One-Seventy-Eight: Cat Wisdom...

Mom always said to share but, she never said it would be easy.

-----

Dear Husband, Yesterday you were super supportive of me, and I needed that. But, I don't even have to tell you I needed that b/c you already know. This is b/c a) you can read my mind, and b) you're just that amazing of a person to know the in's and out's of my heart. Thanks for being my rock and for starring fear in the face for me. Oh yeah, and for pulling my feet back down to the ground when I begin to float away. And, Fontana's ? Thank you for that also. I enjoyed laughing with you over my cheeseless Veal Parmigiana...er...Marinara...immensely. You win my heart everyday. I love you more than all the Butterfinger and Cokes from a can out there! Happy Friday!
