Project 365. Day Two-Sixty-Nine: Happy October Eve!

I must be speedy b/c I really don't have time to blog since I have a GINORMOUS American Lit. in class essay test tomorrow. In class essay. Is it sad that I'm an English major and have never had to do in class essays before? Is it also sad that I'm terrified about doing in class essays? Dickinson, Whitman, Twain and all you other Realists and various 18th century concepts that I'm supposed to know...don't dish it if you can't take it...what with all of your fancy literature and such. Prepare to be rocked (hopefully...yes?).

P.s. The word "ginormous" is a) one of my favorite words b) always reminds me of Elf which always makes me smile :)

Anyways...

Since it's October Eve, I thought rather than list highlights (I swear I still have them even if I haven't posted them lately), I'd post reasons I'm excited to welcome October in.

Reasons to Welcome October:

1) More things like the photo (last years carved pump. So shocking that I did a cat right?)(P.s. By "I" I mean, I drew the cat onto the pump and Jason chiseled him out b/c apparently you need atleast 1% upper body strength to carve large fruits).
2) FALL!!! MY favorite season even though it's TX and fall is spelled with quotation marks around it.
3) Various pumpkin smelling/tasting stuff
4) Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin
5) Candy Corn
6) Cheesy Disney Halloween specials
7) 1 month closer to Thanksgiving and then CHRISTMAS!
8) A&M/Arkansas game
9) Being smack in the middle of football season
10) Fall wreath
11) Cooler weather..kind of..
12) Looking forward to scarves and fires and such
13) Why am I still on here?? I need to study!

Ok. The list could go on but some really important stuff thats totally going to change my perspective as an English teacher is waiting for me.

Ouch.

Ok, ok. I do enjoy our material.

Oye.

Adios!

Dear Husband, Sorry if your shirts smell like your cologne all the sudden. I have no idea why that is. I also don't know why the kittens keep sticking your shirts in my arms while I sleep. Weird. Big hugs waiting for you!

Project 365. Days Two-Sixty-Seven and Two-Sixty-Eight: Blaaaah...

So I didn't feel good last night and Jason made me take some NyQuil (hence why I didn't blog). Anyways, I'm feelin' kinda crummy right now too and in an attempt not to be on here all night blogging, I'm not posting more birthday stuff...except for this picture of the Mayhaw Jelly that Jason got me as part of my bday :) Mmmm!

P.s. Celin Dion's version of "Beauty and the Beast" just came on my Glee Pandora. Just so you know.

Dear Husband, I Peachy Peach Halves you.

Project 365. Day Two-Sixty-Six: 24 "in whcih I bold and italicise a lot of words"...

Some of the photo evidence of turning 24...

Birthday Eve dinner @ The Homestead on 19th w/ Mi Suera, Jason, and baby nephew, Mark...

Mark was pretty stoked about my cheesecake. And, in helping me prevent dessert fires. I swear, I'm not actually disgusted by my nephew, nor am I worried about him spitting on my cheesecake. ...Although this picture proves hi-larious. (It's one of my favs)...

Post Birthday Eve dinner...

So very lucky, I am. And so very thoughtful, is he...

Birthday morning breakfast @ the Taq/Observing my genius baby nephew...

Brother Dave got me a Target gift card (hence the face of excitement). And, please note the Speghetti-o's he also snuck into my gift satchel. [I LOVE Speghetti-o's]

LOOK.AT.THE.AWESOME.SOCKS/GLOVES(in SHSU colors)/HAT MY MOM MADE ME!!! LOOK HOW FLOPPY THAT HAT IS! I -L-O-V-E IT!

Oh weather, please cool off quickly! Can't wait to live in these this winter! [Secretly, I may be hoping to become a collector of homemade knittery of the sock/glove/hat persuasion :) ]...

I've always known Jason loved me but, the thing is, he wore ORANGE for me (i.e. the Family Weekend tshirt). Oh, and he's cutting me hue-awg cake...

Look at that beaut! Mmmmm, Red Velvet from my fav, Farmhouse. Thank-you thoughtful husband!...

Day after birthday lunch @ the Rodeo Mexican Restaurant (go ahead and roll that name around in your head), in which the wait staff did this to me and then sang "Happy Birthday" to me. The best part was watching Jason try and keep a straight face as they approached our table :)...

Then, Brittany and I found it necessary to pose with this horse. Also, necessary: not cropping out the awesome decor in the background...

There are a couple more bday pics and stories I'd like to relate but this'll have to do for now. :)

It was a GREAT birthday!

Today's Highlights:

1) FANTASTIC weather. It almost felt like fall!
2) Getting to wear a cardigan b/c of the beautiful weather.
3) Not sweating across campus
4) Celebrating the (hopeful) beginning of fall by getting a Pumpkin Spice Latte
5) Putting up my fall wreath
6) Getting to watch a little tv w/ Jas
7) Launching my new project blog! Check it out !!
8) Jason just singing me one of our goodnight songs as he rolled over in bed :)

Goodnight!

Well, the entire stream of birthday weekend pictures will be up soon...just not tonight. But check out that MONSTER of a cake Jas got me ! Red velvet deliciousness. Mmm!

Weekend Highlights:

1) Turning 24.
2) A girl in my class baking me cookie muffins
3) One of my prof's holding class outside B/C OF MY BIRTHDAY! It was nearly Starbucks until someone in the class convenced her that it "would be too noisey." Whatever. It was awesome!
4) Mi Suera and baby nephew visiting on Friday
5) All of Jason's thoughtfulness (don't worry, I'll elaborate on that later)
6) Family Fiesta Weekend on Saturday. Hey Sam (Houston State), thanks for holding a school wide event for my birthday!
7) Going to my first Bearkat football game w/ my whole fam
8) Talking to Auntie Karen today
9) Hanging out w/ the Brittany M.
10) Being loved, lots.

Okay, that was just a brief preview of all the wonderful events that've occured this weekend. Hopefully, I'll be able to go more into detail in the next day or so assuming that the homework load isn't too heavy. Aye. Real school is hard work.

Anyways, turning 24 has proven to be one of the BEST birthdays I've ever had. Words will probably fail me when I try and explain how great of a weekend I had and how appreciative I am to everyone who was involved (from near and far).

In other news, today is day 265!! Know what that means ??? Only 100 days until I meet my goal for Project 365! Oh and it will also be New Year's Day. But, that's not as important ;)

Oh and keep an ear out for some new and exciting project news!

Okay, I need to get off this thing.

Over and out-o!

Project 365. Day Two-Fifty-Five: I Spy...

...With my little eye, a bushy-tailed friend!

This week has been super busy. Sorry for the slack in the blog :(

Today's Highlights:

1) The other day I came home to find that da Hubs had placed the last few stepping stones just how I wanted them. It was such a thoughtful surprise and I've enjoyed skipping across the stones to my car everyday since !:) Don't worry, I'll take a picture :)

4) Going to bed without having the pressure of trying to finish a paper.
5) Oh, and tomorrow is FRIDAY!

Project 365. Day Two-Fifty-Four: The Appreciation of an Acorn...

The Acorn

An acorn on an oak tree grew,
The wind around him gently blew,
It whispered to him quite softly
'Some day from your mother
You will be free
To grow and be a mighty tree'
'Who'? 'Me'? A mighty oak'?
The little acorn thought this a joke.

Cruel autumn wind whistled round
And knocked the acorn to the ground.
A little girl passing by
The small acorn she did spy
She picked it up but let it fall
Down a nearby rabbit hole.

All winter long it lay inside
Soon it withered and turned dry

In the springtime a shoot of green
From the acorn could be seen.
It grew and grew, as years rolled by
Soon it reached up to the sky.
So it was a tale come true
A mighty oak
From the acorn grew....

Project 365. Days Two-Fifty-Two and Two-Fifty-Three: Moments like this make me glad I always have my camera on me and I'm not afraid to use it...

The last couple of days have been busy for me between school, and life, and more school...thus, why I didn't blog yesterday...I was hip deep in a 5-ish page paper.

Yesterday was a special day as it marked 4 years since Jason asked me on our first date. In fact, today's picture is from that night. A lot of people are surprised to find out that we have our first date documented but, I knew, in someway, that day was going to be significant. I guess you could say I was right ;) It is still, and will always be, one of my favorite days in my entire life b/c without it all these other wonderful things in our relationship wouldn't have happened. I'm so very thankful for September 13th! And so very thankful for a husband that asked me out years ago. [I've fallen in love with you more than when we began!]

Today has been a good day, full of highlights but, I'd rather leave you where I have...it's the least I could do for such a special day.

P.s. September 13th also marks 3 years since Jason proposed to me in which he recreated our first date. Best. Husband. Ever!!

Love him I do.

Project 365. Days Two-Fifty and Two-Fifty-One: Drip, drip, driiiiiip...

Much like the drippy weather outside, Paprika and (especially) Lottie, like to play with the drips in the bathtub post-shower.

I'm going to cut to the highlights b/c it's past my bed time. Oh, and sorry I didn't blog yesterday...didn't have internet :(

Weekend Highlights in a broad spectrum:

1) RV-Tailgating/Camping w/ Jas @ the game Saturday
2) The A&M vs. LA Tech game (Saturday), 48-16 ...Gig 'em Ags! Whoop!
3) Hangin' out with John Dale
4) RV-ing with Jas...I'll say it again b/c it was so fun!
5) Hangin' out w/ the Kim and the Madeline
6) Lunch w/ Mom/Dad/Adam/Jas @ La Casita
7) Being welcomed home by the animales
8) Getting caught in the rain w/ Jas and Kiltie. Then, riding home together.
9) Getting Jas's car washed
10) Cooking dinner w/ da Hubs
11) Finishing my Cave Project for Philosophy
12) Looking forward to what highlights this week may bring

Dear Husband, 4 years ago today (Monday) you gave me the BEST last first date of my life. And, 4 years later, you still give me those excited butterflies in the pit of my stomach, a flutter in my heart, and a smile beaming with the anticipation of life with you. Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you for pursuing me. You are the highlight of my life!

Project 365. Day Two-Forty-Seven: Study Buddy...

It started out as an innocent game of I Spy...

Do you see what I'm seeing ?

How about now ?

Then, he thought he needed a better look...

And soon, he was in his favorite study spot in the back of my chair...
It was a pretty rough game, I have to say. If you look closely, you'll notice a tiny white speck by his paw...one of his baby teeth! Play big or, go home...I guess!...

4) Getting my picture w/ Sammy
5) Discovering upon examination of said pictures that we had a creeper in the picture (look in the background). I applaud this girl b/c 1) she is showing a great deal of enthusiasm 2) Sometimes I have the urge but not always the bravery to bombard the background of people's pictures. Cheers to you, girl in green, cheers. Finding you like Where's Waldo in my picture made me smile :)
6) Jason's enthusiam and encouragement for me to get involved at Sam
7) "Even though I haven't loved the drive, I'm really glad to get to go through this stage in life with you." [My husband said that to me. Sometimes life is just so good as to grace you with sentences like that!]

Project 365. Days Two-Forty-Three and Two-Forty-Four: Little labor...

First of all, sorry I didn't blog yesterday....didn't get home until nearly midnight from the game in which we WON.

So, lemme just say, this is the FIRST Labor Day (other than the couple of times when I was little and my school year didn't start until after Labor Day) which I have OFF! I have always found it ironic that we were always required to labor on Labor Day when it was so obvious that the great American Dream expected otherwise. But, I also secretly admired the holiday for being so direct, and to the point while I wished I was one of those kids that didn't have to go to school on that day.

Anywhoot, here are a couple-three pics from the weekend...

Aggie football, WHOOP!...

Running into an old friend...

A little gardening and stepping-stoning...

Labor Weekend Highlights:

1) Uh, time off from school...duh.
2) Having Brother Dave over
3) Fish Fry Friday w/ da Hubs
4) Aggie Game Day / Finding Jason on the sidelines and getting excited everytime we made eye contact and everytime he waved at me :) Just like old times...always a highlight to gameday. So, proud of him!
5) Well, we won the game...so...that's cool...
6) Seeing John Dale
7) Re-vamped front stoop
8) Checkin' out The Woodlands
9) da Hubs surprising me with some extra goodies from Bath and Body Works :) Thank-you Sweet Pea for all my Sweet Pea stuff (and, acorns!!)! I'm always pleasantly surprised by your thoughtfulness :)
10) Island Getaway w/ the brother and da Hubs
11) A fresh shower with my new smell-em-goods
12) Papasitos!!! Mmmmm!
13) Introducing David to the Taq.
14) Lookin' forward to some Tuesday's @ Two w/ Katie W tomorrow!! Seein' the fam. etc
15) Getting to go to bed knowing I DON'T have school tomorrow!
16) Knowing I'm married.to.my.best.friend.

Dear Husband, The last few days that I've gotten into the car and heard our song playing as soon as I turned on the radio has been wonderful. Remember how that always seemed to happen to us when we were dating ? It's moments like that that further confirm for me that God is in the little things and He cares about us. Oh, and maybe, just maybe, He's just as giddy about our love story as we are. Mmmhm! I hope that as another week begins, you're able to find little moments like that too. Just keep a look out! Have I told you lately (no, I'm not stealing "your song") that I believe in you? Or how bout that I think you're incredibly brave ? I look forward to beginning another week waking up by your side! P.s. If you need to heal any wounds, please find the bottle of Aunt Helen located under the sink. This, assuredly, will remedy either your wound or need for a smile (I know this is the case for me!)[# 856 why I love you endlessly]. ISDLY//PPH !!

Project 365. Day Two-Forty: I think September means it's fall, but I'm not really sure here...

Well, I don't have as much time to blog tonight as I'd hoped. But, Happy September! Too bad that the beginning of September here in TX doesn't mean the same thing as it did in OK-- y'know, an actual fall w/ changing leaves and cool weather and such.

Anywho, I need to get back to my hot date with Beowulf, and other such FUN things. To the highlights it is !

Today's Highlights:

1) The week is ALMOST over!
2) Yet another fun work-out at the REC...er..."HKC" as the hip kids here call it, with the Miss Brittany M. Today we did Yoga and came to appreciate the Dead Bug/ Happy Baby pose. BAHAHA! Trust me. FUN-E.
3) Camomile...how do you spell that ? Anyways, I had some of THAT hot tea. Mmmm!
4) Welcoming the new PITA PIT to town w/ the Miss Brittany M.
5) Vitamin Water
6) Welcoming da Hubs home with a hug
7) Beowulf

I'm totally lying about that last one. I mean, it's not the worst thing I've ever read but, it's kind of really close...like, it's the BFF of whatever the worst thing is I've ever read.

Bleh.

Celebrate September by watching this though! And watch all 3:09 mins of it! Impressive little doggy! I know PEOPLE that can't dance that well!

Whoop!
