Project 365. Day Thirty-One: One month!

It's official, it has been a month since I started Project 365. I mean, I figured it'd have it's challenges but, it's been a little harder than I thought. I've managed to take the time to blog every day but only barely. Most nights I seem to realize how tired I am just as I'm about to blog. I'm going to try and make this next month better.

To celebrate the Project's month-a-versarry, let's play a game !

I spy with my little eye,
Something while watching CSI...

Can you find Ridley ?

Project 365. Day Thirty: Naked Fish

Yesterday, Chelsea and I went to a new sushi place in town called Naked Fish. Sushi is delicious. Sushi with cream cheese is very delicious. Sushi wrapped in cuccumber, as we came to find out, isn't.

The place...

The menu...

Chelsea ordering and a waiter in the background working at super-sonic speed...

Illustrating how difficult it is to eat the cuccumber wrapped sushi...

We ended up unwrapping the sushi in order to eat it more pleasantly. We'd asked the waitress if the roll was big (in terms of the number of peices), she said yes. Instead, we each got five ginormous peices. We suspected that they killed two large cuccumbers in order to wrap our sushi. These are the remains that we piled onto Chelsea's plate (in the top right of the plate is a pre-unwrapped sushi. Look how huge it is!). Pretty sure the wait staff at Naked Fish probably think that Chelsea REALLY likes cuccumber :)

Well, atleast the Rock N' Roll roll (which we ordered after the cuccumber roll because we were definitly still hungry) was delicious :)

Project 365. Day Twenty-Nine: Pretty Skies Part Tres

Today has been a busy, busy day. Ridley is back home and, when she isn't dopped up on pain meds, shes been pretty active. Right now, I'm having trouble typing because she's laying on my lap/laptop/arm. I'm really glad to have her home :)

To follow the theme of this blog (taking time), I'm not worrying too much about having a super-griping blog tonight. Instead, I'm taking the time to enjoy the kitten on my lap and t.v. shows w/ Hubs, and his dad.

So, enjoy something pretty...

Goodnight!

Project 365. Day Twenty-Eight: Today's the big day...

...Today, Ridley went into the vet to be de-clawed and spayed :/
Really, it's the right thing to do but gosh it sure was sad putting her in her little carrier and dropping her off!!

Posing for a quick morning photo before she gets suspicious...

Obviously, unhappy w/ the news...

Imprisoned :(...

T-minus 14 hours until I pick her up!! I can't wait (I'm such a sap)!!

Project 365. Day Twenty-Seven: I'm going to be sore tomorrow...

Well, week two of the semester is coming to the end. Today, we officially started doing stuff in my dance class. My body didn't see it comin'. I'm already sore which leads me to believe that I'll be very sore tomorrow. But, it's SO nice to be back in a dance studio again :)

This is our pantry door that I've decorated with my assignment schedules for each class...

These are...well, they're my feet which are tired along with the rest of my body.

Time to sleep so I can wake up to feel how sore all my muscles are :)

Project 365. Day Twenty-Five: Pretty Skies Part Dos.

I was driving home from class today and saw this while I waited for traffic to clear so that I could make my turn. The person behind me was probably a little put out with me since I saw this, fumbled for my camera in my purse, turned the camera on, and then accidently turned it off, turned it back on and then finally took the picture all the while missing a couple opportunities to make my turn. It's okay though, I got the picture just as the light turned green :) and it was well worth it!

Psalm 16:5-11 (New International Version)

5 LORD, you have assigned me my portion and my cup;
you have made my lot secure.

6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
surely I have a delightful inheritance.

7 I will praise the LORD, who counsels me;
even at night my heart instructs me.

8 I have set the LORD always before me.
Because he is at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.

9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure,

10 because you will not abandon me to the grave,
nor will you let your Holy One see decay.

11 You have made known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Project 365. Day Twenty-Four: Cat Bath.

Something possessed Jason and I to give the kitten (claws included) a bath today. She did surprisingly well. She complained a little and tried to escape twice but blood wasn't shed ! We did learn two things though when bathing Ridley...

1) She doesn't enjoy how much work she has to put into grooming after a bath.
2) She is in no mood to worry about grooming AND posing for pictures.

Observe:

Tomorrow begins week 2 of the semester. Blah.

Project 365. Day Twenty-Three: Animal Planet

I've been watching a lot of Animal Planet today so I thought it would only be appropriate to show you exactly what happened when I left the room on a commercial break....

SOMEBODY took my chair (that's been tastefully covered by towels to protect it from kitten claws)!

Project 365. Day Twenty-Two: Food for Thought?

I can't eat salad. She can't eat dairy. We are friends.

This dinner date confirmed it. She ate a cesar salad. I had potato soup (thick w/ cream I might add).

Yum!

Project 365. Day Twenty-One: I have a pet giraffe and I'm sick.

So....
I won't say much other than, I love kittens and giraffes. Here is a picture containing both (what a great combo, right??):

Soon after getting Ridley, she discovered that Miles the pet giraffe provided excellent shelter. Since then, it's become her own little safe haven (that she particularly likes to make use of when it's time to go to bed and doesn't want to be found. She doesn't realize that she doesn't blend in against a giraffe).

NyQuil and goodnight.

Project 365. Day Twenty: A face only a mother could love...

I still don't feel good so I don't plan on writing much, or loading a current picture on here so...

Several months ago we had to have our cat Lottie shaved because she was so badly matted and obviously uncomfortable. I brought her home from the vet and placed her in front of her food bowl. She caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror :) Enjoy, and goodnight!

Project 365. Day Nineteen: I Spy.

Long first day of school and I don't feel good so....

Can you find Ridley the kitten ?

Goodnight!

Project 365. Day Eighteen: School Starts Again.

...and I almost forgot to blog....again. And I need to get to sleep so that I can get up for my first class, and hopefully find a parking spot in under 10 minutes.
Thus....

....Like everyone in this picture (D.C., Lottie, Ridley, and Kiltie), I plan on going to sleep. Right now.

Goodnight! Wish me luck for my first day !

Project 365. Day Seventeen: What do all Texans need to remember ?

...The answer is The Alamo (thank-you Trivial Pursuit). Sadly, it's T-1 day until school starts again. Though I enjoy the structure of class and I thoroughly enjoy learning and probably secretly really enjoy going to school...I also really enjoy being on vacation. Among my 14hrs of classes this semester is Texas History. I'm actually really looking forward to it. Anything HAS to be better than Oklahoma History right ? ;) I'm particularly looking forward to learning more about The Alamo because I am one of the few people in this world that actually finds it interesting and thinks the remaining structure is more than just a pile of rubble. These pictures were taken by Jason over the summer during our trip to San Antonio.

Now, Jason and I are about to watch a scary movie....in surround sound...in the dark. Oh dear.

Project 365. Day Sixteen: Hockey.

I'm running short on time (it's 10 til midnight...I'd almost forgotten I needed to blog!) so, I'll make it short and sweet. This is a picture of Jason and me at an A&M hockey game against UTSA yesterday. Whoop!

Project 365. Day Fifteen: Cat in a Box.

She was playing in this box when it turned over on her. But, that didn't stop her from trying to get the toys :).

Project 365. Day Fourteen: The Pantry.

Well, today marks two weeks of the project. I've been a little surprised at what difficulty I've encountered (i.e. "I'm too tired to blog. Can't I just go to bed instead?"). But in celebration of this landmark, I decided to organize the pantry. Dun, dun, DUUUUUN! Trust me, it's a pretty daunting task.

Before clean-up...

...After...

Mmmmhm! And, goodnight!

Project 365. Day Thirteen: Pretty.

Psalm 19:1 (New International Version)

[For the director of music. A psalm of David.]

1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Project 365. Day Twelve: Silly Faces.

Life is too short not to make silly faces occasionally. Atleast, that's what I would say if I made fortune cookies...

Married Hands! Yay!

Thoughtfullness (a typical state of being for us, of course)...

Screaming Match (we called it a tie)...

Turtle Neck (I REALLY enjoyed this one because I think I look like a turtle and whats not funny about that?)...

I insist you make a silly face tomorrow and IF there happens to be a large herd of people (you included), rushing to this blog to join my husband among my list of followers then, you should tell me about your silly face....it will make me smile :).

Good night!

Project 365. Day Eleven: Top Chef.

So, I married a Top Chef. Seriously, Jason is an amazing cook. A couple nights ago he treated me to a Surf N' Turf dinner. It. Was. DELICIOUS!! So, so, so good. Words really can't describe how happy my tastebuds were so, I took a couple pictures. Naturally. :)

Jason and my brother, David, chowin' down...

Jason's wonderful Surf N' Turf...
Delicious steak and crab legs and a cucumber salad that Jason prepared, and my brother's coleslaw (one of my favs).

His cooking talent really does amaze me. He's so talented! If he ever opens a restaurant, you should definitly be 2nd in line (behind me, of course) on opening day--you'd be lucky to try some of his food! I wish we had leftovers !

Project 365. Day Ten: Can I Get Away w/ Another Wordless Day ?

Good. Because that's what I'm doing. Sort of.

Ok, so I was in a hurry and just shoved another cat picture on here. Ugh, I'm going to look like the crazy cat-lady on this blog. Pfft.

Goodnight!

Project 365. Day Eight: Cool Skies.

On a very cold winter's evening, this was our view on the way to dinner. Pretty cool huh?

Project 365. Day Seven: Goodbye Christmas.

As much as i love Christmas, it's due time to get the decorations down. Today, Jason and I officially said goodbye to Christmas.

The beginning of demolition...

A little help...

Jason at tear-down...

Takin' down the star...

This just made me laugh...
Apparently, somebody had put their old Christmas tree out for the trash. But, I guess in it's misery the Christmas tree let the wind push it out into the street to be dodged by cars. Poor thing.

Welp, that's it. And to all a good night!

Project 365. Day Six: I Hate Grocery Shopping.

It's true. I hate it. I like looking at all the stuff; I like eating the food but, I HATE grocery shopping. I guess I just get shopped-out way too easily.

Now, I'm hopefully watching Troy win against C. Michigan in OT. Wish me luck!
