Project 365. Day One-Seventeen: This Picture Doesn't Relate...

...much to the post that is. We've been in the car all day making the great voyage from Bryan/College Station, TX to Little Rock, AR for the night. Tomorrow we finish our quest to Louisville,KY. Aye.

This picture is, obviously, a field of wildflowers. It's right by our house, annnnnd it's a cemetary. I mean, props to Mother Nature for making this final resting place pretty. However, it's a cemetary. I don't care how pretty the flowers are, don't take your family, that looks like they came straight from a Gap ad, there to take the family portrait. Or, to take those precious pictures of your child froliking through said field, they may trip on a headstone. It's a cemetary for Pete's sake, and that's just creepy.

But hey, cool picture huh?

To Kentucky we go!

Project 365. Day One-Thirteen: Go Fish !...

We did! I even caught the first fish (that, however, is where my record ended)!

"One fish, Two fish, Red fish, Blue Fish,
Black fish, Blue fish, Old fish, New fish.
This one has a little car,
This one has a little star,
Say! What a lot of fish there are!"

Project 365. Day One-Eleven: Rug Bug...

D.C. loves to walk into the livingroom, plop down onto the middle of the floor, and proceed to stretch, and roll, and twist, especially if she has spectators. Literally, in these situations, D.C. is the center of (the room) attention.

Following suite of this ever-present display, D.C. always, and I do mean always, finds a chin to rub on, a lap to sit in (computer, homework, etc in lap is optional), or a body to climb in route to said lap.

You will love her b/c she will give you no option otherwise. Lest you particularly enjoy a mustache of cat hair, you might as well give in.

Person + carpet = D.C., resident Rug Bug.

Project 365. Day One-Oh-Nine: Dance Pance (I need to do stuff)...

I need to do stuff....like....

1)spruce up the blog
2)rock the last 2 1/2 weeks of school
3)clean
4)organize
5)get rid of stuff
6)papers,projects,finals
7)soak up ASC
8)check things off list(s)
9)
10)
11)
12)
13)

I could fill a list a mile long. Lots is happening but, it's all good.
One day at a time--windows down, music playing, lots of hugs and coffee shops-- one day at a time.

One project on my list is for my dance class, each group has to choreograph a dance to perform in front of the class as part of the final. I was video taping our practice today when I accidently took a picture of one of the girls in the group, whoops. Thus, Project 365, Day 109.

Speaking of dance class, I had my sit-up's skills test today which, I'm proud to say, I got 100% on. That's 50 crunches in 1 minute. It's okay, I'm allowed to brag b/c I totally didn't expect to get 100%. I celebrated by eating a nice carby meal for dinner haha.

Jason and I finally have gotten an evening to do absolutely nothing except relax. We had dinner and watched Remember the Titans, and now we're watching Everybody Loves Raymond.

Welp, commercial is over!Back to relaxing w/ da Hubs!

P.s. I've dropped the ball on Youtube Tuesday a couple times now so, here ya go!

Project 365. Day One-Oh-Three: NOTICE!!...

I love my Wil group more each day!

When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares.

Project 365. Day One-Oh-Two: It's the end of the semester...

...And this is a lite week...

As you can tell (or can't b/c of pixelation), my schedule has been quite full. Ignore how empty Monday looks, I was actually pretty busy doing ...something... But, due to my inability to keep the days of the week in the right order followed by my brain threatening to explode, I fail to remember what I did (and was obviously too busy to even write down my schedule for Monday).

So. Much. To. Get. Done. For. End. Of. Semester.

I fear I have just used the last of my thinking skills on this post b/c I don't know how to finish this blog and I still have homework to finish.

Toodles.

Project 365. DAY ONE HUNDRED!!!

...And a hundred year old dinosaur...
Okay, so she's much older than a hundred but, whatever. Her name is Sue and she's famous and really interesting. Read more about her here.

It's been a hundred days since I started the blog, hooray! It hasn't been easy; there have been a lot of days when I haven't wanted to blog but here I am, day one hundred.

Unfortunately, I had no idea what to blog (a hundred pictures ? Uh, no thanks. a hundred pictures of pets? That's basically every day. A list of a hundred _____ ? That takes too long. Dinosaur? Okay.)

But, here's an extra youtube clip for the week!

265 days to go to reach my goal !

Project 365. Day Ninety-Three: The Rupert Series Part A...

A couple years ago, Jason's dad started throwing an annual crawfish boil. That first year, I started my own tradition of releasing one lucky crawfish into the wild, free from our feast. I affectionately named that very first crawfish Rupert, and the name stuck. Now, every year, a Rupert is released. It's no longer called a crawfish boil but rather "Rupert Day" (atleast thats what anyone with any sense calls it ;D ). One year when Jason and I couldn't attend this tasty event, his dad even set one captive free. And last year, the Rupert legacy was passed on to Ricky (our oldest nephew), who found the Ruperts to be such great fun that he freed a good half-a-dozen :).

Over the next few days, you'll get a look into my quest to free the Ruperts ...and have a full tummy :/.

The beginning of the 160 lbs of crawfish that would be devoured...

The Cat's Diary

Day 983 of My Captivity

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates my capabilities. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am. Bastards!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow, but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released, and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded. The bird must be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now ...

Project 365. Day Eighty-Nine: Dandelions...

I used to pick dandelions for my mom when I was little because I thought they were pretty, I could never understand that they were weeds. When my dad would take weed-killer to their sprouts in the yard, I objected. "They're weeds, we don't want them in our yard," they'd tell me. "But...they're pretty...," I justified. I would spend the rest of my childhood springs blowing the dandelion puffs all-over our yard and neighborhood in an attempt to save my flowers from extinction. I was certain that nothing so pretty could really be that bad. Everybody just needed to give my dandelions a second chance, so that the pretty flowers that made me so happy, could prove them wrong.

Once I was finally old enough to understand my childhood conundrum, I decided that I'd always blow dandelion puffs, no matter how old I got, in the hopes of finding a new dandelion someday. Someday, I'll even let my daughter do the same :)

“It gives one a sudden start in going down a barren, stony street, to see upon a narrow strip of grass, just within the iron fence, the radiant dandelion, shining in the grass, like a spark dropped from the sun.”

--Henry Ward Beecher
