Project 365. Day Seventy-Two: Hammocking (pretty sure it's a word)...

Ever since she was a puppy, Kiltie and I have shared popsicles together. I'll eat the icy treat down to a nub and then I'll let her eat the remainder off the stick. This has become our ritual with popsicles, and she knows it. I can go a year without eating a popsicle, I can change up the flavor, and the shape, still, she remembers our unspoken agreement. This is a time that I really enjoy with her, especially now...it flashes me back to her younger summers and our first beginnings. It's funny to think how we can bond over a $3.00 box of popsicles.

We topped the beginning of our popsicle summer off with an afternoon in the hammock eating our treats and soaking up the sun. Jason snapped some pictures...

Jason, unknowingly, decided to video tape me swinging in the hammock. Kiltie took it upon herself to use this time to snag the discarded popsicle stick and wrapper :)

I love my dog. I call her a dog because that's what everyone else calls her but, to me, shes far beyond your typical four-legged, "man's best friend." I won't even try to explain this phenomenon because I know I can't adequately formulate the words. Nor, do I believe I have the capacity to create an abundance of new words for the english language as there certainly aren't any living words that could fulfill this bond.
But, if you're curious about this love at all read Dean Koontz's, "A Big Little Life," it's the best description I've ever been able to find, AND it's a great book. I'm nearly done reading it myself.

...Off to find the dog c-o-o-k-i-e-s's (careful, she can spell too)!

Project 365. Day Seventy-One: Another Sunny Saturday...

Today was another beautifully Sunny Saturday! As I worked at my computer through out the afternoon, I witnessed the most intense cat nap I think I've ever seen. Though these two get along 97% of the time, Ridley (the kitten) knows how to push Lottie's buttons. But, this afternoon the sun won their affections over and all was at peace. What's cute is that the kitten often will watch the big cats and copy whatever they're doing at the time. Notice how many times Ridley copies Lottie in these pictures :)...

Even though Ridley can push Lottie's buttons often through the course of a day it's probably all talk...since they're playing right now [while D.C. lays curled up comfortably on her throne...I mean our bed].

Project 365. Day Seventy: I spy with my little eye Part Tres ?...

I spy with my little eye, a couple furry somethings welcoming me home!

Did you spy what I spied ?
Here's a close-up...

Side note: I've been really hankering for some Dr. Seuss lately, I don't know why (other than the fact that it's Dr. Seuss and he was brilliant and just makes you feel good). I've been tidding myself over by looking up Dr. Seuss quotes...

"You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams."

"Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You."

"The storm starts when the drops start dropping. When the drops stop dropping, the storm starts stopping."

"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."

"So the writer who breeds more words than he needs, is making a chore for the reader who reads."

"I meant what I said and I said what I meant. An elephant's faithful, one hundred percent."

"I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. Some come from ahead and some come from behind. But I've bought a big bat. I'm all ready you see. Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!"

"And will you succeed? Yes indeed, yes indeed! Ninety-eight and three-quarters percent guaranteed."

"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

Project 365. Day Sixty-Eight: Miles to go before I sleep...

Okay, not really. But, I did run a mile this morning for my dance class which made me very sleepy. It's basically the same thing. Might I add that I ran that mile in 11 minutes and 34 seconds ? Yeah, I know that's nothing to brag about to any of you, especially those of you that run. But...

a)I'm not what one would consider a runner. Though I like to imagine myself being able to climb a flight of stairs w/o getting winded and/or being able to run.
b)I shaved a good 2 minutes off from my practice run
c)I think I did pretty good and I know I pushed myself. I managed to get myself a lot farther before stopping to walk a few feet.
d)I didn't give up even when it felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest wanting to wake up Mr. Asthma OR when my legs felt like noodles.
e)Even though I figured I'd walk some, my whole goal for today was to beat my time from my practice run. Which I did...by 2 minutes.
f)And I ran even though I didn't have to.

So, I'd say 11 minutes 34 seconds is pretty good if you ask me!
But then the run was over and my legs still felt like noodles. And I was/am tired.

Apparently, this is what I look like as fatigue slowly creeps onto me while waiting for lunch...

GOOD night!

Project 365. Day Sixty-Seven: Denim and Diamonds...

Whew! It was hard to narrow it down to just a few photos from this weekends dance(which is what I just managed to do)! Please, enjoy in some of our merriment as I have much to do it seems (I say "seems" since I tend to build up to-do lists in my head until I'm barely able to function). Today is a Monday after all. I've declared it "No Makeup Monday" but really, most days are. Or maybe it should be "No Mess Monday" ? Or how about "No More Mondays Monday" ? In any case, it's a Monday. But that's okay because tomorrow is Tuesday, and not Monday, and much closer to Friday. Did you follow that ? Good :) Side note: I gave Jason a nightmare about my indecisiveness last night. Guess I should make more decisions! And to start, I'm deciding to show you pictures from the dance right...now!

The hair, which I'm proud to say, I did all by myself...

The going to dinner...

The groovin'...

The girls...

The Wil Group Leader...

The boy affectionately called Hubs...

Hope you're having a good Monday!
