Project 365. Day Three-Ten: Almost done...

I'm almost done with finals and this semester, thank goodness!

And, it's almost that time (see picture above). At this time last year, I became the proud owner of an A&M Snuggie given by none other than my nephew Ricky. He was SO excited to give it to me, and I love it :) Although it does attract the pet fuzz quite well and thus has become close friends w/ the wachine machine over the last year. Lemme just say to all you Snuggie haters out there.... they may just seem like a backwards robe, but they keep you cozy and warm! And, if your darling nephew gave you one, you'd probably love them too ;)

Today's Highlights:

1) All of my hard finals are OVER
2) All of my essay finals are OVER
3) I can practically smell Christmas break
4) Lookin' forward to some Beeble/Keeble time
5) Getting to hear about/see all the stuff da Hubs learned in his photoshop class :). This was probably my number one highlight today...so fun to see him excited about having learned something new :)

Isdly Hubs! You are the Photo to my shop. The Butter to my Bean. The whomped to my hair. :)

Happy Freakin' Thursday Fah-Rends!

Project 365. Day Ninety-Three: The Rupert Series Part A...

A couple years ago, Jason's dad started throwing an annual crawfish boil. That first year, I started my own tradition of releasing one lucky crawfish into the wild, free from our feast. I affectionately named that very first crawfish Rupert, and the name stuck. Now, every year, a Rupert is released. It's no longer called a crawfish boil but rather "Rupert Day" (atleast thats what anyone with any sense calls it ;D ). One year when Jason and I couldn't attend this tasty event, his dad even set one captive free. And last year, the Rupert legacy was passed on to Ricky (our oldest nephew), who found the Ruperts to be such great fun that he freed a good half-a-dozen :).

Over the next few days, you'll get a look into my quest to free the Ruperts ...and have a full tummy :/.

The beginning of the 160 lbs of crawfish that would be devoured...

Project 365. Day Fifty-Five: My nephew gave me a stegosaurus...

Not only did it snow yesterday but, I got a letter in the mail from Jason's 7 year old nephew, Ricky :) I was immediately greeted by colorful stickers and notes on the back of the envelope (I had put a stegosaurus sticker on the back of a letter I'd sent him with a note saying that I loved dinosaurs). Each sticker had a note explaining it's signifigance. "I heard T.Rexes are the king of the dinosaurs" "I like Nasa a lot. This is it's symbol." And my favorite... "I know you like astegosaurus so I gave you one"

I flipped the envelope over before opening it. He'd addressed it to "Mrs. Aunt Katie" :) Um, AH-DORABLE!!...

Then, I opened the letter (which came with my very own bookmark :) ) and the cuteness was just overwhelming. Please read...

Mmmhm. Yesterday was quite good indeed! Oh and I kind of dropped the ball on Youtube Tuesday. So, have Youtube Wednesday (except that this video isn't really from youtube, it's of Kiltie and I playing in the snow yesterday).

Annnd, today's Jason's birthday! Sometimes, I'm struck at the thought of how different and much less wonderful my life would be without Jason. I'm so grateful and happy to be a part of his life! And, I'm so very glad to celebrate his birthday ! ISDLY !!!
