A Mish-mash of Pictures and Stuffs and Sometimes...

Oh, hello there!

This post really doesn't have a point other than the fact I haven't posted in over a month. This has got to stop. Doesn't school realize that I have a blogging community that depends on me?? Seriously.

Anyways, these pictures are in no particular order, they're just pictures I felt like posting. I need to dump a bunch off my camera(s) so that I can get some more current ones up here.

A few updates/highlights:

1) I got into the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society @ Sam. Eat 'em up, Kats!
2) Uh, school. That is what my life is consummed of.
3) School really must be getting to me b/c I've started to listen to country music much more willingly lately. EVEN IN MY CAR!! I KNOW!
4) I got to talk to Maw--Sarah's mom--today!!!!
5) Got to text w/ Sarah too! Yay!
6) Taking Beeble on a surprise dinner tonight :)
7) The honeysuckle on campus is in full bloom--MAJOR bonus points for the Univ. I love, love, love "honeysnuckle" as I would call it when I was little.
8) TGIF. Seriously.

Pictures anyone?

For all of you that are completely wrapped up in this royal wedding stuff, my best friend has the fashion sense of a princess. I give you exhibit A:

That's right, her wedding dress (from 2007) looks pretty similar to Princess Kate's, except way prettier if I do say so myself. Speaking of pretty, look at Sarah--beautiful!

Paprika still does impersonations of scarves...

Jason even needs a scarf sometimes...

Sometimes Kiltie goes to school with me...

And we look at Bumbles on Azaleas which reminds us of Tulsa...

And, when we're done with that, sometimes the Kiltie-dawg likes to pose w/ Ol' Sam himself. What a good pup...

Well world, that's it for now....I'd planned on doing some homework before Jason got home OR cleaning--I've done neither. I do have to say, I've missed the outlet that posting has become, I'll try and do a better job at it...for both our sakes ;)

See you soon!

how many cokes will it take to keep me awake?

i'm going to try and type in all lower-case like my dear friend xuannie.

the amount of fatigue i feel right now is one word, rediculous.

that being said, i cannot fully update you on the spring break adventures experienced. not enough time nor energy. also, school. its in the way of things like....

fun.

whatever, its cool.

and, actually, i really, really, really like school (i mean, hello, i'm going to BE a teacher). don't get me wrong, i try and be grateful for each day i don't have to completely grow up. i know one day very, very, too soon, i will look back and say, "i really miss school. that was the life!"

but, seriously, the fatigue. bleh.

over the next two days i have:

2 papers
1 logbook up to date
4 article reflections

obviously, that's why i'm here...blogging...and not doing homework between classes or taking an extreme power nap.

Ok, the power nap is probably going to happen in about 30secs for about 15 mins. truth.

til then, here's one of my fav pictures from SB 2011:

P.s. Beeble and I made it here! cool, huh?

see you on the other side of the homework mountain!

Things lately....

Wow.

Life.

Sorry for the sporatic posting, I don't like it much either. It seems like I have been soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Busy.

Maybe I just spazz out too easily.

Or, both.

Regardless, here's some of the latest, the picture version:

Paprika continues in his quest to become the world's cutest scarf...

Proof. da Hubs really did enjoy his B.B. ....

Kiltie went to school with me. She decided she liked being a dog more than a student....

Beeble and I became RC (roller coaster) pros....

AND! I got my very first, much anticipated, pair of TOMS. A picture that perfectly depicts me--sparkles and sushi--whoop!

Noteworthy but not photographed highlights:

1) Sonic picnic date w/ da Hubs
2) Shopping w/ da Hubs lately (TOMS for me, pantelones for him)
3) Cooking w/ da Hubs
4) Tasty food w/ da Hubs
5) Having a day in town w/ da Hubs between work/dr. appts

Please, please, PLEASE...

Let it snow in Huntsville this week!

Ok, I'm done.

Out of our pets, Kiltie would be the only happy one she LOVES to play in snow almost as much as I do. The cats, however, would kill us in our sleep if we dropped them in a big poof of snow (although that cat chasing fish in the frozen pond was pretty funny).

PLEASE SNOW!!

Recent Highlights:

1) Feeling mostly human again, although I still feel worn out. Dang it all.
2) Having da Hubs tell me I should a) write a book b) suggest a cute/funny idea that was along the lines of something I had toyed with doing c) the fact that he believes in me enough to think I could be successful at writing a book d) all of the above
3) Listening to Tim and Em's speel on Today's Letters. You should definitly go listen to it NOW! It's super great and challenging and encouraging :)
4) a lovely weekend w/ da Hubs
5) Having a husband who loves, loves, loves me.
6) Finding out that my mother-in-law is reading my blog (Hi Sue!)
7) Going to bed after this post b/c I am worn out!
8) IT MIGHT SNOW THIS WEEK!!
9) Listening to "Drops of Jupiter" and other Train hits in the coche.
10) Waking up every morning, and after ever nap to da Hubs wonderful whisker kisses. This is one of my favorite things EVER (Next to the time he woke me up from a nap by stroking my cheek, to then kiss my cheek and tell me he just wanted to say that he loves me. Seriously. Bottle that up and stick it in the fridge, I want to save it for forever).
11) It's almost Valentine's Day which is tied for my favorite holiday (it always was as a kid...don't worry Christmas shares the title).
12) It's almost my Beloved's birfday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes.

What good is happening in your world?

Oh and...

Goodnight!

To Sir, With Love...

Dear Hubs,

Here are a few things that you've missed while galavanting w/ the men folk over the weekend:

1) When Sleigh Beds ring, I sleep like a princess.

But....

2) I've had some tripped out dreams. For example: Last night I dreamt that I a) Ate 8 slices of pizza exactly w/ Kurt (Kurt is the fashion-aware openly gay character on Glee b) Cooked Kiltie Mac N' Cheese c) Had somehow joined a weird "The Island" type place that had some sort of bad somethin' or another that was searching for me and Kurt (again). So, I hid under a blanket, fell asleep for several hours only to be awoken by the creepy cult leaders of the island who were running stats on me, and whom informed me that I'd completely missed the movie that I was supposed to go see with the rest of the memebers of Glee. d) All the above
3) I initially struggle to fall asleep due to a lack in a certain someone's snoring orchestra. Of course, I'm referring to the cats.

In other news...

4) I remembered that I can have a good time w/ my parents.
5) Your love/compulsion for bacon does not change even when on "vacation," though this is not a surprise.
6) Practically my whole family watched the Cotton Bowl while in their respective places. Atleast, Mom/Dad/Grammy/your mom did. I think this is because you have a really good influence on people and you're setting everyone straight. Rep-pre-SENT, dawg!
7) I love all my Christmas goodies. Thank-you kindly.
8) Speaking of dawgs and goodies, Kiltie wanted to express her love to you...

*Well, crap. Nevermind. I've waited for atleast an hour for this video to load that Kiltie insisted on putting on here. I'd also like to mention its 2am. I mention this b/c it affirms my love for you and my commitment to posting you a jewel of a video via Kiltie. She asked that I load it b/c her paws are too big, and the keys are too small. Darn demanding d-o-g. So basically, the punch line of this whole post is missing. Remind me to show it to you tomorrow when you get home and then you can solve my video quandries for me. K, thanks.
**You should also look at the comments from yesterday's post. No reason...
*** I'm tired; hopefully I won't be in a coma when you get home.

Hope you've enjoyed your man-time! Lookin' forward to seein' ya tomorrow!

ISDLY,
Wifey

*No one call PETA, I swear no pups were harmed in the making of this really rediculously good (looking) home vid, Kiltie actually really likes it when I scratch and pat her nose (hence her pawing at me and me doing it 25 plus times in the clip). However, none of that matters b/c I couldn't post the ding dang video. Fluff.

Project 365. Days Three-Sixty-Two and Three-Sixty-Three: A Very Furry Christmas...

Even our local residents had a good Christmas. Yes, thats right, we bought the animales Christmas presents. Are you surprised? Should I add that they have their own stockings too? Judge me how you will :)

Kolache, Jason's Mom's pup, even got into the holiday spirit and gave the residents their very own portable dog house. Really, Kolache gave it to the cats b/c we all know Kiltie couldn't get anything past her noggin' in there. But! Should the day arise when Kiltie wants to make like an ostrich, I'm positive of where she'll be.

Ridley surveying her dominion...

Paprika and his big self. Who seems pleased with his orange self?...

There's even room for two (pretty sure I heard them discussing curtain patterns and throw pillows)...

We let Kiltie and the cats open their stockings and presents but were only really able to get pictures of Kiltie before the camera died. I assure you though, the cats made out just fine this Christmas...don't let them fool you (they are now the proud owners of a lot of catnip toys).

Kiltie eagerly waiting for me to get the 10,000 tags off her toys...

...Wondering if I need help...

Reaping her profits...

A Very Furry Christmas...

Today's Highlights:

1) Having another delicious breakfast from da Hubs (he has cooked breakfast every morning for me!)
2) Chilaxin' relaxin' actin' all cool, shootin' some bball out by the pool. Ok, skip that last part.
3) Not leaving the house all day long (except for a momentary queso run).
4) Playing Chicken Foot, Speed, and Nerts w/ Jas
5) Enjoying time w/ da Hubs/and residents
6) Cooking homemade tortilla chips, and taquittos (w/ a "K" shaped tortilla chip on behalf of da Hubs)

8) Looking forward to wishing Mom another happy birthday and welcoming in the New Year. Can you believe its practically 2011???

What was a highlight from 2010 for you? Did you learn anything? What about 2011--do you ahve any goals are ambitions?

From our furballs to yours...Happy New Years Eve Eve!

Project 365. Days Three-Eleven through Three-Sixteen: Christmas time is here...

Oh my oh my! Its Christmas week. Let me re-phrase that.... ITS....CHRISTMAS...WEEK (CRAP!)!

We have so much to do..it kind of feels like life's version of finals. Sick. Oh well, atleast its for Chrustmas and not for class :)

Hows your holiday to-do list coming ?

In other news, I'm pretending that somehow my house will magically look all "Good Housekeeping" like Julie's over at girl in the red shoes. Well, mine does if you squint really hard. :)

All is well though b/c I still have my highlights...

Today's Highlights:

1) First "do-nothing" day....aside from all the stuff I have to do :)
2) Perico's date w/ da Hubs
3) Organizing...sort of...
4) Playing w/ da Kiltie in the (freakin' 80 degree, what happened to December) yard

P.s. This picture was taken at the 90th Annual Tree Lighting at Bearkat Plaza on campus. The tree was HUGE! Note: My hand-knitted, mom-made Bearkat hat :)

How do you make your house have a touch of "Good Housekeeping" ?

Oh, one more P.s....

I need a good book to get lost in (but not one that'll make me depressed. Here's lookin' at you Nicolas Sparks!). Have any book recommendations for me? If so, why?

Merry Wednesday!

Project 365. Days Two-Ninety-Four through Two-Ninety-Eight: Still here...

Well, my computer is still down for the count but....here I am on Jason's Ol' Faithful. And, it was just easier to tap into the archives on Jason's computer for a picture than anything else. This, here jewel is from the very, very first snowfall (at Christmas time thank-you very much) that I'd ever seen in College Station. Seems like it was about a million years ago. Ah, Kiltie loves the snow...makes her like a pup again :)

Anyways, I'm still alive. Have a lott-o papers and projects due in the next week and have worked pretty hard on academia this weekend.

How was your Turkey Day?

We had a great one, topped off with a Fightin' Texas Aggie win against TU!

Oh and P.s.....

Go here, please and thank-you.

Here's to being back in the blogging world even if Slick is still sickly! Whoop!

Project 365. Days Two-Seventy and Two-Seventy-One:

We had a good Halloween yesterday (Kiltie was a professional tennis ball holder, of course)--even though we only had 1 group of 4 trick or treaters. We watched The Great Pumpkin, and a scary movie. Couldn't have asked for much more :)

How was your Halloween? What was the best costume you saw ? Did you have a lot of trick or treaters ?

Today's Highlights:

1) Nice weather (even if it wasn't preferable). Somehow 90 degrees at the beginning of November just doesn't seem right. Hello, Texas.
2) Having a productive afternoon of homework...I'm even (in the slightest) a little bit a head....at least in one class.
3) Reminiscing about how Jason scared me at Chilis yesterday; it's good for laughs.
4) Playing ball outside w/ da Kiltie

Happy November to you and yours!

2) Having a class canceled today, whoop!
3) Going on a ghost tour w/ Jas. Lots of stories about campus, and a "hay ride" to go with it. It was fun and intesrsting! :)
4) If you haven't noticed over the last couple of days, the quality of my pictures has gone up...that's b/c Jason has been letting me use his older fancy camera. Luckily, I have some residents that are more than willing to be my models :)

Happy Halloween Eve Eve! Be safe!

I've actually had a pretty good day...so good that I managed to make this post at 3p.
Buuut, I was just a reflectin' on the importance of knowing what makes you smile so that when faced with opposition, you're much better prepared :)

So,what turns your frown upside down?

Project 365. Day Two-Thirty-Seven: So many more reason's why I love my husband...

We have a fence!!

AND, da Hubs and I put it up TOGETHER (insert "Just the Two of Us" song, here)!

Here are some pictures of Kiltie enjoying her new digs...

Since these happen to BE my highlights for today, here's a list of just a few of the newly added reasons why I love da Hubs...

Reason's Why I Love My Husband More Than Free Puppies Or Homemade Food:

#1345) He willingly built this fence so that Kiltie could have a yard, AND he let me help.
#234257) I couldn't even count how many times he told me I was doing a "great job," or "was "an old pro" at fence building today
#38798799) The conversation we had on the way to lunch--
Jason(out of the blue): "...That was fun"
Me : "What was?"
Jason : "Building the fence.
I liked working with you, it was fun."
Me{Feelin' like a kid on Christmas} : "I liked working with you too! It was fun building something together! {Inside myself: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!}
Jason : "Yeah, we did a project together!"
Me : {swoon!!}
#478965876553) While I sat at my desk studying, Jason checked on me numerous times
#576389872398753) On one of these times, Jason did a little dance while singing "I love my wife" over and over :)

I'll stop there for tonight or I'll be here til we're 90.

:)

Love, love, LOVE da Hubs!

Project 365. Day Two-Thirty-One: Weekend recap on pause, it's a very important birthday...

We'll continue the weekend recap tomorrow. Today, is very special.

It's Kiltie Dawg's BIRTHDAY!!

This picture was taken the day I picked her out on a far away farm in Inola, OK. She was about 3 or 4 weeks old, I was a couple weeks shy of my 13th birthday. We've been inseperable since...

Eleven years later, I look about the same, only a little longer, and she's aged gracefully w/ only a few extra snow white hairs. But, she doesn't mind b/c she's who she is, the greatest dawg in the world.

It's a fine and mighty thing to be one of those few persons that gets to experience this kind of undefinable bond. You can figure out all of life, your doubts about God, or about love, how to treat others and how to simple enjoy life by watching a dog like Kiltie.

Opps. I think I've become that sappy girl even though I promised myself I wouldn't :)

Happy 11th Birthday to the greatest dawg in the world!!

"When we have the deepest of affection for a dog, we do not posses that love but are possessed by it, and sometimes it takes us by surprise, overwhelms us."

"Dogs might love a place, as people do, but the only place they love beyond all others is the place where you are. When we left the house on the hill, in Harbor Ridge, home would become wherever we took her."

--Both quotes are from my favorite book, A Big Little Life, by Dean Koontz.

If you even, kind of like dogs, you should read it.

WOOF!
