I lost two weeks...

Seriously? Its been two weeks since I posted last? Geez. Well, I know you all have been beside yourselves without my posts and for that I apologize.

Since my last post:

1) I have studied for/ taken the THEA (Texas Higher Education Assesment).
2) Felt like crap.
3) Felt better.
4) Felt kinda crappy again.
5) Jason felt like crap.
6) da Hubs and I have been the very first customers @ the new Fuzzy's in town.
7) I have since been back a minimum of 4 times. They have been open for a week.
8) Cooked stuff...posts to come eventually.
9) Beemed with pride as Jas made me homemade raviolis FROM SCRATCH. Seriously--he made the dough, which turned into pasta, and he made the marinara sauce! Love my Chef Boyardee! Always glad to be his su-chef...or however you spell that....
10) Attended Relay U in Lufkin in preparation for Relay for Life.
11) Have welcomed the first day of school with some potential computer problems (yay!). Poor Jas, he worked so hard to fix Slick last month and now he's acting up again. Slick must have it out for us.
12) Taken lots of pictures and videos (to post later b/c none of them are on my computer right now).

What's new in your world ?

Kitten Taco...

My Nana, via my parents, donated a cat tree to our feline residents at Christmas time...

They.Love.It. We think it had catnip on it at one point b/c Jas and Dad could hardly get it in the door before they started going bonkers. I call the very top part of the cat tree a kitten taco b/c of its shape. It just so happens that the kitten taco is the hot spot in the living room now.

Our local Kitchen Spices, Paprika, was being his normal cute self the other day con el arbol de gato and I was able to get some pictures...

Did you see how he was sprawled out on the thing? That cat is all boy, I tell ya. Next thing I know, he'll be demanding I fetch him a beer. Just kidding...I don't think he's a beer kind of guy.

Welp, I gotta go finish picking up the house before the fam gets here to watch the Aggies BTHO LSU at the Cotton Bowl! Whoop!

The Latest Highlights:

1) Sleigh bed
2) Tripod.camera.fancy camera.video camera. Let me just geek out for a sec...
3) Watching all of season 1 of Glee thanks to my Target giftcard from Brother Dave
4) Knowing Jason gets a chance to hang out with the guys for a couple days/go to the Cotton Bowl. I miss him when he's gone but I'm happy for him to have opportunities like this!
5) Cooking a successful Tator Tot Casserol in our new crockpot last night (recipe to come!)
6) Cooking for da Hubs
7) Having a new Max Lucado book to read
8) Smooches from da Hubs :)

Ok, I really have to go now!
Gig 'em Ags!

Project 365. Days Three-Sixteen through Three-Seventeen: Happy Christmas Eve Eve!...

It's practically here. Can you feel it? Slight insanity, crinkled wrapping paper, very full, feasted tummies. Christmas. And, I happen to think that this is going to be "the hap-hap-happiest Christmas since Bing Cosby danced with Danny effing Kaye!"
And guess what? I got an early Christmas present....

Tim and Em over at Today's Letters have been competing to become the "Best Blog of 2010". In the latest round of voting, bloggies cast their vote by comment only. Well, Tim and Em have posted some of their favorite comments on their own blog...and...I can say I'm touched that they considered my comment meaningful. Hello, Xmas present numero uno! Nothing quite beats having your appreciation reciprocated right back atcha ("atcha" is a technical word....I know b/c I'm an English major).

You can take a look-see at Tim and Em's post here (but, don't forget to cast your own vote! Today's Letters definitely deserves some winner winner chicken dinner!).

Today's Highlights:

1) Case in point: Xmas present numero uno. Did I mention I threw up a victorious fist pump...alone...parked in a parking lot? Well, I did. Bam!
2) Food Wars w/ da Hubs
3) Having 99% of Christmas shopping done. Huntsville's lack of shopping possibilities + finals + work = me shopping all.day.long. But hey, somebody has to keep Mr. Kringle on his jolly toes.
4) Looking forward to sleeping in w/ da Hub-a-saurus in the morning
5) Annnnnd, cooking with him all day long in preparation for holiday feastivities. Hopefully, I'll have dreams full of Julie Child, June Clever, and Emeril tonight. Ole!
6) A good mornin' cup of rasp. hot choc. @ The Sweets pre-shop-off :)
7) Jason being OFFICIALLY OFF WORK through the New Year!

Don't forget to go vote for Tim and Em!
And to all a good Christmas Eve Eve!!

Project 365. Day Two-Thirty: Sunday Funday; Breakfast Part A...

Remember how yesterday I said that I thought da Hubs and I had had our best day/date as Huntsvillians yet ? Well, copy/paste b/c today was a great day just like yesterday. Whoop! In fact, it was so great that I had to break it up into parts!

So here's Breakfast Part A and Today's Highlights (more pictures to follow over the next day or so)...

We went to "our place," which happens to be an "it can't get more authentic than this unless I was actually in a spanish speaking country" Taqueria restaraunt for breakfast. It was cleverly named, Taqueria. Anyways, it's AWESOME. In fact, it's so awesome that I think Jason may want to name our first born "Taqueria." Breakfast tacos are .99 cents. Huevos Rancheros might be $4 ? Two people can have a feast for $12 doll hairs. Seriously. The people that go to ...we'll call this establishment, "Fon Frafas"...for "mexican" food should be ashamed. Okay, enough about that! I have pictures to show you!

First, my AH-dorable husband, and our waitress, Elizabeth (in the background)...
"Hey Jas, show me how excited you are about eating here"...

He was practically giddy :)...in a very manly way of course...

I discovered, with ease, that I've learned enough spanish this summer to enable me to translate this sign by our booth. I could probably read the spanish newspaper too, front to back ;)....I'm kidding... Anyways, it says "Today's Tortillas. Thrown by hand. Flour and Corn." Ole!

Then, we finally got our alimentacion (food)...
"Hey Jas, show me how excited you are about finally having your food"...

I got "Big Breakfast Sandwich," as it said on the menu, and it was GOOD!...
I am excited b/c I heart food, a lotto...

We decided to take our relationship w/ Taqueria to the next level and take a coupley picture with it. I think Taq and us may be together for the long haul...
Right, and my Hubs is precious. And, I can't wait to show you just how cute he is. Just wait, you'll see!...

3 Ole's and a leg kick for such a good day (and you haven't even heard about it all yet)!

Today's Highlights:

1) Breakfast Part A
2) da Hubs being such a very good sport while curtain shopping/curtain installing. If I had a trophy for how good of a sport he was, I'd give it to him. 1st place, hands down.
3) Curtains!! Now, the animales and I can feel that much more safe, and sound, and homey in our homey. And, I can walk around the house in my neon yellow sports brazier (allegedly).
4) Neon sports braziers! Yaaay! Now, my day really is highlighted...by my undergarments...
5) Huntsville's Farmer's Market (i.e. That one truck parked in that parking lot w/ all those jams and fruits and veggies, Farmer Bob included). Let me just break this down a little more for you (this is jsut a preview) Mayhaw Jam, Peach Salsa, and PEACHY PEACH HALVES. You heard me. Peachy Peach Halves. And, that is the technical name. WIN! Oh right, and Farmer Bob-- overralls, old plaid button-up shirt, old straw hat, old floofy mustache, and big, ol' coke bottle glasses.
6) Me and da Love singing "Peachy Peach Halves" all day. Mmmm! <--- That's the sound of bliss :)
7) Another trip to the island resort via our livingroom. So much fun w/ my best friend.
8) Cooking our first meal in the new house/in the new (real)kitchen together. Jas had a BT (Bacon and Tomato sammich), and I had a BTTC (Bacon,Turkey,Tomato, and Cheese sammich). We had fun in our REAL kitchen; we didn't even run into eachother once! And, we gave 1 leg kick, and 1 fist pump to the new cocina :) Whoop!
9) da Hubs, as he lays w/ his face smooshed into his pillow, moments before he falls asleep (quitely, and slightly muffled)..."Peachy Peach Haaalvesss..."

Slam, bam, and thank-you very much ma'am. Great weekend!
