today:

is his birthday. he is a fantastic man, so fantastic that words often fail me when expressing my love for him. if i could have one wish granted right now, it'd be that today of all days, he would feel known, loved, and appreciated. he deserves it.

happy birthday, Beloved. Thank-you for capturing my heart. yup.

(a very bacon) birthday highlights, so far:

1) waking up to cook da Hubs birthday bacon
2) surprising him w/ said b.b.
3) him enjoying it even though i feared that i had ruined it (to which i'm sure jas would retort, "how can you ruin bacon???").
4) talking with him while he munched on his b.b. and i nibbled on my breakfast lunchable (breakfast lunchable--ironic?).
5) melodramatically singing along to "king of the road," and "sweet caroline" for a little birthday morning jam sesh before da Hubs left for work.
6) getting ready for his birthday dinner out. [if you read this before coming home jas...shut-up, you're going. it's your birthday.]
7) walking to class in the rediculous wind. note to self: eat heavier foods in order to avoid blowing away.
8) a postcard from a dear friend.
9) not having class tomorrow. heyo!
10) playing w/ da beebs this weekend.
11) kiltie feeling better
12) snapping pictures of da Hubs w/ his b.b. this morning before he devoured it. no, i haven't loaded the pictures onto my computer, yet.
13) eagerly awaiting his arrival home--best.part.of.every.day.

Project 365. Days Two-Sixty-Seven and Two-Sixty-Eight: Blaaaah...

So I didn't feel good last night and Jason made me take some NyQuil (hence why I didn't blog). Anyways, I'm feelin' kinda crummy right now too and in an attempt not to be on here all night blogging, I'm not posting more birthday stuff...except for this picture of the Mayhaw Jelly that Jason got me as part of my bday :) Mmmm!

P.s. Celin Dion's version of "Beauty and the Beast" just came on my Glee Pandora. Just so you know.

Dear Husband, I Peachy Peach Halves you.

Project 365. Day Two-Sixty-Six: 24 "in whcih I bold and italicise a lot of words"...

Some of the photo evidence of turning 24...

Birthday Eve dinner @ The Homestead on 19th w/ Mi Suera, Jason, and baby nephew, Mark...

Mark was pretty stoked about my cheesecake. And, in helping me prevent dessert fires. I swear, I'm not actually disgusted by my nephew, nor am I worried about him spitting on my cheesecake. ...Although this picture proves hi-larious. (It's one of my favs)...

Post Birthday Eve dinner...

So very lucky, I am. And so very thoughtful, is he...

Birthday morning breakfast @ the Taq/Observing my genius baby nephew...

Brother Dave got me a Target gift card (hence the face of excitement). And, please note the Speghetti-o's he also snuck into my gift satchel. [I LOVE Speghetti-o's]

LOOK.AT.THE.AWESOME.SOCKS/GLOVES(in SHSU colors)/HAT MY MOM MADE ME!!! LOOK HOW FLOPPY THAT HAT IS! I -L-O-V-E IT!

Oh weather, please cool off quickly! Can't wait to live in these this winter! [Secretly, I may be hoping to become a collector of homemade knittery of the sock/glove/hat persuasion :) ]...

I've always known Jason loved me but, the thing is, he wore ORANGE for me (i.e. the Family Weekend tshirt). Oh, and he's cutting me hue-awg cake...

Look at that beaut! Mmmmm, Red Velvet from my fav, Farmhouse. Thank-you thoughtful husband!...

Day after birthday lunch @ the Rodeo Mexican Restaurant (go ahead and roll that name around in your head), in which the wait staff did this to me and then sang "Happy Birthday" to me. The best part was watching Jason try and keep a straight face as they approached our table :)...

Then, Brittany and I found it necessary to pose with this horse. Also, necessary: not cropping out the awesome decor in the background...

There are a couple more bday pics and stories I'd like to relate but this'll have to do for now. :)

It was a GREAT birthday!

Today's Highlights:

1) FANTASTIC weather. It almost felt like fall!
2) Getting to wear a cardigan b/c of the beautiful weather.
3) Not sweating across campus
4) Celebrating the (hopeful) beginning of fall by getting a Pumpkin Spice Latte
5) Putting up my fall wreath
6) Getting to watch a little tv w/ Jas
7) Launching my new project blog! Check it out !!
8) Jason just singing me one of our goodnight songs as he rolled over in bed :)

Okay, that was just a brief preview of all the wonderful events that've occured this weekend. Hopefully, I'll be able to go more into detail in the next day or so assuming that the homework load isn't too heavy. Aye. Real school is hard work.

Anyways, turning 24 has proven to be one of the BEST birthdays I've ever had. Words will probably fail me when I try and explain how great of a weekend I had and how appreciative I am to everyone who was involved (from near and far).

In other news, today is day 265!! Know what that means ??? Only 100 days until I meet my goal for Project 365! Oh and it will also be New Year's Day. But, that's not as important ;)

Oh and keep an ear out for some new and exciting project news!

Okay, I need to get off this thing.

Over and out-o!

Project 365. Day Two-Thirty-One: Weekend recap on pause, it's a very important birthday...

We'll continue the weekend recap tomorrow. Today, is very special.

It's Kiltie Dawg's BIRTHDAY!!

This picture was taken the day I picked her out on a far away farm in Inola, OK. She was about 3 or 4 weeks old, I was a couple weeks shy of my 13th birthday. We've been inseperable since...

Eleven years later, I look about the same, only a little longer, and she's aged gracefully w/ only a few extra snow white hairs. But, she doesn't mind b/c she's who she is, the greatest dawg in the world.

It's a fine and mighty thing to be one of those few persons that gets to experience this kind of undefinable bond. You can figure out all of life, your doubts about God, or about love, how to treat others and how to simple enjoy life by watching a dog like Kiltie.

Opps. I think I've become that sappy girl even though I promised myself I wouldn't :)

Happy 11th Birthday to the greatest dawg in the world!!

"When we have the deepest of affection for a dog, we do not posses that love but are possessed by it, and sometimes it takes us by surprise, overwhelms us."

"Dogs might love a place, as people do, but the only place they love beyond all others is the place where you are. When we left the house on the hill, in Harbor Ridge, home would become wherever we took her."

--Both quotes are from my favorite book, A Big Little Life, by Dean Koontz.

If you even, kind of like dogs, you should read it.

WOOF!

Project 365. Day Fifty-Six: The most exspensive plant I ever bought...

Yesterday was Jason's birthday (yaaay!!!). I ordered him a chest freezer as a surprise and had planned to pick it up on his birthday while he was out of town. About 20 mins before he was expected to come home from work on Tuesday, I came up with a brilliant (that's sarcasm) plan as a horrible attempt at throwing him off. He knew how much money I was spending on his present but, he didn't have a clue as to what it was. So, JUST before he got home on Tuesday, I ran to the grocery store and got some balloons and a plant. I came home, ignoring his phone calls and quickly "decorated" the table and blew up 8 balloons (leaving me light headed in the rush). He came home and I greeted him with my best "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!". I then proceeded to give him his birthday shrub, admitting that I'd blown my entire birthday budget on the plant alone. I'm pretty positive that I didn't even come close to convencing him but, I enjoyed it all anyways :) Then, we played a really fun game of balloon volleyball/"don't let it touch the ground" across our kitchen :)
We ended the pre-birthday evening by staying up until midnight to see if the snow would continue through to Jason's birthday (it did!). Since I knew we wouldn't really see eachother or be able to do anything on his actual birthday because Jason would be in Waco, I woke up at 4am(and accidently woke Jason up, sorry!) and put some lame, homemade decorations/card on the front door for him to be greeted by as he left for work that morning. How terrible exciting for him right ?

All that being said, I found out yesterday afternoon that Jason's freezer is apparently on back order and won't be in for two weeks. Boo. So, in all my groggyness late last night, I put the giant yellow bow I was saving for the actual freezer on top of the receipt for said freezer and gave it to him when he got in from Waco at the wee hours of this morning. Whew! Since you've endured that whole birthday saga, how bout some pictures ?

Project 365. Day Fifty-Two: The Bridge...

Growing up, Jason had a favorite restaurant to eat at on his birthdays. As long as we've been together, he's told me about this place--full of stories, unique characteristics and good food. Until today, I could hardly believe this place existed. Well, after almost 4 years we finally made it to Pickett House (as a pre-birthday extravaganza for Jason). It was really fun and neat to kind of re-live history with Jason and his mom. But, in order to get to Pickett House we had to cross a mile-long bridge covered in creepy fog. Because I don't feel as though I have adequate time to blog as much as I want to about today's events, you're going to have to let this crazy bridge tide you over until tomorrow.

The Bridge as we drive into nothingness...

...I have to go finish studying for a history test...
