today:

is his birthday. he is a fantastic man, so fantastic that words often fail me when expressing my love for him. if i could have one wish granted right now, it'd be that today of all days, he would feel known, loved, and appreciated. he deserves it.

happy birthday, Beloved. Thank-you for capturing my heart. yup.

(a very bacon) birthday highlights, so far:

1) waking up to cook da Hubs birthday bacon
2) surprising him w/ said b.b.
3) him enjoying it even though i feared that i had ruined it (to which i'm sure jas would retort, "how can you ruin bacon???").
4) talking with him while he munched on his b.b. and i nibbled on my breakfast lunchable (breakfast lunchable--ironic?).
5) melodramatically singing along to "king of the road," and "sweet caroline" for a little birthday morning jam sesh before da Hubs left for work.
6) getting ready for his birthday dinner out. [if you read this before coming home jas...shut-up, you're going. it's your birthday.]
7) walking to class in the rediculous wind. note to self: eat heavier foods in order to avoid blowing away.
8) a postcard from a dear friend.
9) not having class tomorrow. heyo!
10) playing w/ da beebs this weekend.
11) kiltie feeling better
12) snapping pictures of da Hubs w/ his b.b. this morning before he devoured it. no, i haven't loaded the pictures onto my computer, yet.
13) eagerly awaiting his arrival home--best.part.of.every.day.

Project 365. Day Eighty-One: I Spy part Quatro..

I spy with my little eye...
A splash of color on a rainy day!

See it?

Today was dreary enough that, as I caught this little guy out of the corner of my eye, I was actually startled by his bright red appearance among the gray back drop of clouds :)

Stuff like this, makes me smile :)

Project 365. Day Seventy-One: Another Sunny Saturday...

Today was another beautifully Sunny Saturday! As I worked at my computer through out the afternoon, I witnessed the most intense cat nap I think I've ever seen. Though these two get along 97% of the time, Ridley (the kitten) knows how to push Lottie's buttons. But, this afternoon the sun won their affections over and all was at peace. What's cute is that the kitten often will watch the big cats and copy whatever they're doing at the time. Notice how many times Ridley copies Lottie in these pictures :)...

Even though Ridley can push Lottie's buttons often through the course of a day it's probably all talk...since they're playing right now [while D.C. lays curled up comfortably on her throne...I mean our bed].

Project 365. Day Sixty-Five: Sunny Saturdays...

We celebrated this beautiful sunny Saturday by lounging around the house until about lunchtime. Mmm! Love those days if and when they come around!

Watchin' the game (whoop! And, yes, those are curlers in my hair)...

Ridley slept through most of the game...

D.C. enjoyed chompin' on some Cat Grass (I'm sure the Cat Grass will have it's own post in a day or so)...

A freshly shaved Lottie sun bathing...

The flower arrangement that I made for Movie Night...

Sun flowers, Sunny Saturday. What more could you ask for?...

Kiltie and I even had a picnic on the porch. Sorry Cesar (Milan), she got a bite of pizza...

Wonderful! Unfortunately, I fear that our "spring" is soon to be over and then blistering heat will be here to stay...indefinately. I mean, we've pretty much ahd a long "spring". It's lasted for a few days in a row. I think the record is a week. Then, BAM! 1,000 degrees, and 90% humidity. Oh, Texas. How you toy with me!

But before all that it's going to get down to the low 50s, high 40s tonight while Jason and I are at ASC Formal...outside...in a tent... Awesome.

I'm wearing leggings under my dress. That's class.

Cheerio!

Project 365. Day Fifty-Nine: Let's Go Fly a Kite!

As you probably know (atleast those that live in the greater B/CS), it was a BEAUTIFUL day today. AND, my husband is awesome. What does that mean?

He surprised me with a kite flying date!! Let it be known that I'm 23 and, until today, I'd never flown a kite before.

The assembly...

High flyin'...

I look more like an archer than a kite flyer here...

Celebrating our first successful flight...

Up in the air...

After a long afternoon in the sun...

Reflecting...

Walking across our kite field...

See those cute sandals I'm wearing? They ganged up with the sun and left some really sweet pink splotches on my feet, proof of our fun day :)

Everyday just gets better and better with him. Yup. I.am.lucky!

And, Sweet Pea ? I hope you have a really, really good morning and know that I'll be daydreaming about our awesome kite date (but not during class of course)!

Project 365. Day Forty-Six: Enjoy...

I JUST got home. So, it's short n' sweet tonight.

I love fall. I LOVE how the trees change color. I LOVE crunching the leaves below my feet. I love it!

But we don't get much of a fall here. Basically, not one at all. So, when I find some leaves I have to enjoy them :)

Over the weekend...

Project 365. Day Forty-Two: Yessssssss!

...So far this is all that it's amounted to. But, we might get some more later tonight. I don't expect much but, I like the prospect. Jason made this little snow man for me while I was at Wil group. He also took Kiltie on a quick walk b/c he knew Kiltie liked the snow too :)

I love my husband :)

Project 365. Day Forty-One:Dear Texas...

...I would just like a little winter weather please. That means a few snow flakes!

And, there's a chance for some "wintery mix" late tomorrow night. I will be the one waiting up on her porch to see the first sloshy flake fall!!

Project 365. Day Thirty-Nine: A Mish-Mash...

That update I'd mentioned...

It's not a huge update but, I wanted to brag. It's basically common knowledge. Here it is:

Fact: I have the greatest husband in the world.

This is the part of the blog that I'd like to entitle, "I Could Have Danced All Night" :

Last Wednesday started out as an ordinary day. I started the day by going to my dance class (mmm exercise and sore muscles). After I got out of my last class of the day, I went with Chelsea to a hip-hop class (a last minute decision). I hadn't been able to get a hold of Jason to give him a heads up so I just left him a message. Now, let me just say... it has been a LONG time since I've done two dance classes in one day. I signed up for hip-hop but it turned out to be a aerobic intensive, hip-hop fusion class. It was my near death experience for the week since we danced at supersonic speed for an hour. I checked my phone at the end of class and Jason told me very vaguely that I needed to hurry home, we had somewhere to be at 7:30pm (class got out at 6:30pm). "Oooookay. Do I need to look slighltly less disgusting?" "You need to be a little dressy". Sweat dries fast though right? So I get home and oh my goodness. He stepped out from the bedroom all dressed up and looked so handsome. He took my breath away. Yep. Heart throb (if he's reading this,he's totally rolling his eyes right now...). I got ready really really quickly and we were out the door! I had no idea what was going on but, I love a good surprise and Jason's surprises are always extra good :) Next thing I know, we're at Rudder Theater see a ballet/jazz show called "A Cinderella Story"-- a 1950s rendition of the classic. Go ahead ladies, swoon. Be jealous. :) I love my husband more each day!

Here we are shortly after finding our seats :)

Post dance classes, styling my new Breakaway tshirt...

This is the part of the blog that I like to call "Today":

A mid-afternoon storm rolling in...

My view while waiting to pick Jason up from his office for lunch..

Mmm delightful life!
Off to finish learning about learning disabilities!
Then sleep !

Project 365. Day Thirty-Six: Drying Off...

Ok so this isn't the update but it'll come soon. Promise.
However, the weather update is that it's been raining the last few days. So I decided to put up a picture of Kiltie drying off from a bath ? Yup. It has nothing to do with rain but it's water right ? Right.

She HATES, and I do mean HATES, the bath process but she is (as we call her) "Miss Prancey Britches" when it's time to dry off :)
