Kitten Taco...

My Nana, via my parents, donated a cat tree to our feline residents at Christmas time...



They.Love.It. We think it had catnip on it at one point b/c Jas and Dad could hardly get it in the door before they started going bonkers. I call the very top part of the cat tree a kitten taco b/c of its shape. It just so happens that the kitten taco is the hot spot in the living room now.

Our local Kitchen Spices, Paprika, was being his normal cute self the other day con el arbol de gato and I was able to get some pictures...








Did you see how he was sprawled out on the thing? That cat is all boy, I tell ya. Next thing I know, he'll be demanding I fetch him a beer. Just kidding...I don't think he's a beer kind of guy.

Welp, I gotta go finish picking up the house before the fam gets here to watch the Aggies BTHO LSU at the Cotton Bowl! Whoop!

4) Knowing Jason gets a chance to hang out with the guys for a couple days/go to the Cotton Bowl. I miss him when he's gone but I'm happy for him to have opportunities like this!
5) Cooking a successful Tator Tot Casserol in our new crockpot last night (recipe to come!)
6) Cooking for da Hubs
7) Having a new Max Lucado book to read
8) Smooches from da Hubs :)

Project 365. Day Seventy-Two: Hammocking (pretty sure it's a word)...

Ever since she was a puppy, Kiltie and I have shared popsicles together. I'll eat the icy treat down to a nub and then I'll let her eat the remainder off the stick. This has become our ritual with popsicles, and she knows it. I can go a year without eating a popsicle, I can change up the flavor, and the shape, still, she remembers our unspoken agreement. This is a time that I really enjoy with her, especially now...it flashes me back to her younger summers and our first beginnings. It's funny to think how we can bond over a $3.00 box of popsicles.

We topped the beginning of our popsicle summer off with an afternoon in the hammock eating our treats and soaking up the sun. Jason snapped some pictures...



Jason, unknowingly, decided to video tape me swinging in the hammock. Kiltie took it upon herself to use this time to snag the discarded popsicle stick and wrapper :)



I love my dog. I call her a dog because that's what everyone else calls her but, to me, shes far beyond your typical four-legged, "man's best friend." I won't even try to explain this phenomenon because I know I can't adequately formulate the words. Nor, do I believe I have the capacity to create an abundance of new words for the english language as there certainly aren't any living words that could fulfill this bond.
But, if you're curious about this love at all read Dean Koontz's, "A Big Little Life," it's the best description I've ever been able to find, AND it's a great book. I'm nearly done reading it myself.

Project 365. Day Four: New Stuff.

First off in the introduction of new things is my new Max Lucado book that I intend on starting as soon as I finish this blog. Mmmm! Delicious food for thought!



Second on the "new list" are my new "wheels,": which my sweet Hubs got me (I found out during the tire buying process that "wheels" is slang for rims. I found this quite confusing when Jason and Robert the mechanic were discussing what type wheels would be best for my tires. "Uh, aren't wheels the same thing as tires??")!





...And finally on the list...
Jason and I have wanted a china cabinet for a while now, and finally got one during Christmas. We found it at an antique shop near my parents' house for a good deal. ...Still need to get out the rest of the china to fill it up!
